2014 in review

The WordPress.com stats helper monkeys prepared a 2014 annual report for this blog.

Here’s an excerpt:

The concert hall at the Sydney Opera House holds 2,700 people. This blog was viewed about 16,000 times in 2014. If it were a concert at Sydney Opera House, it would take about 6 sold-out performances for that many people to see it.

  1. Yay David, great report. So glad I found your blog and look forward to your posts. Good reading!!

  2. Such fun! I didn’t even bother to look at my report because it would have been dismal. But, there you go. What you put into something has a lot to do with the rewards you reap, and David, my friend, your efforts paid off handsomely! It’s good fun to see your name show up in my inbox!

    • I’m sure your stats can’t be that bad Normandie. I’ve seen people comment on the blog posts.
Thank you for the kind words. I have enjoyed doing the blog.
      Have a Wonderful New Year.

  3. Inspiring statistics, David. I hope this is very encouraging for you. See — you are more loved than you knew! Happy New Year. Hugs. ❤ 🙂

    • They’re not great stats by any means Teagan. I know someone who shares the same viewing stats who doesn’t even do a blog.
Being loved would always be a nice thing though.

    • Thanks so much Renata, but they’re not that good really. I should step it up a pace and get more followers really.

  9. These reports are quite fascinating. I’ve seen several people’s so far. Maybe next year I’ll have something to report.

  10. Blogs are a lot of work but… they’re fun too. 🙂 I like looking at the stats but I think the comments are probably a better indicator of how people are enjoying a blog and you always get lots of comments! Happy New year!

    • Thanks so much. I only teat the stats as a bit of fun a they can change by the moment. The blog has to be fun to do or it defeat it’s purpose, unless it’s educational of course.
I think there’s some kudos attached to being Freshly Pressed so I’ll try and head for that.
      Happy New Year to you

  14. What a wonderful report. Funnily enough Laurie featured highly in the commenters in my report also. 🙂

  15. Congratulations, David! Wonderful stats and well deserved. I love reading your posts because each and every one is an adventure, a ‘journey’ of sorts far different from anything in my daily life. Perhaps similar at times, but still, your words whisk me away on holiday!

    • There we go. Another day when you’ve given me a boost to the ego. You’re such a sweet person Kim, no wonder so many people adore you.
If my words whisk you anywhere I’m glad but if they ever whisk you over here your husband isn’t getting you back !

  17. Hi David,
Wow that is so cool, I love it. What a great way of seeing how your blog has done throughout the year. The ‘Where Did They Come From’ was my favourite, 103 countries is brilliant.
I do love your posts, the way you write just draws me in and I love just taking a little time out to catch up with your week.
Your comments are also such a wonderful addition to my posts, I look forward to reading them and always smile when you share such kind and lovely words.
A big thank and I’m so glad we have found each other through blogging and it goes to show that you do make friends with people through this way of communicating, I think its wonderful.
    Take care,
    Kim
