Very Inspiring Blogger Award

A couple of weeks ago I was given a new award by a very dear and extremely humorous lady who should be on everyone’s reading list.( She probably is). Elaine Canham  http://elainecanham.wordpress.com/                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                      Since I didn’t have an Author- or any other Interview yesterday , I’m taking this opportunity to share it with you.

For once there don’t seem to be many rules and it doesn’t matter too much anyway as I have a tendency to break them these days.

1. The first instruction is how you would change the world if you were in charge.

Easy peasy, lemon squeezy. No more weapons allowed though the military would be issued with jack-in-the-boxes to scare the enemy. No more space exploration as the money is now given over to feeding the World’s starving and to creating ways of bringing water to irrigate desert areas we once occupied. Hugging is mandatory when you meet someone ( unless they have the plague). No global conglomerates are allowed to dodge tax on profits made within a country by sending them elsewhere. In order to stem the tide of obesity junk food is now allowed only on birthdays.

2. Things I have to make up about myself, but that I wish were true.

a) I was once voted one of the ten most handsome men in the Universe ( excluding Venus as I’m told they’re all gorgeous)

b) I won the biggest ever lottery prize and spent it all on wine and women, the rest I wasted.

c) My blog was voted ‘Best Ever’ by a jury of my peers.

d) I learned to drive.

e) I entered a Mr. Nice Guy competition and lost out to Big Al, my albino cory.

One of the joys, and the most difficult part of awards is the nominations. Here are mine and absence of a name doesn’t mean I don’t love you.

Inspiring, Me????

Yet again I’ve been caught on the hop this week by the kindness of one of my fellow Bloggers. Barbara of My Un-Puzzled Heart ( http://barbmca.wordpress.com/ ) saw fit to honour me with the  Very Inspiring Blogger Award. I can only say thanks so much Barbara- you must have been desperate.

The award ( above ) comes with the usual rules and regs some of which I’m afraid I have to bend if not break in the interests of not boring you poor readers to death.#

I’ve fulfilled the first condition which is to thank my sponsor and link back to their blog. This I have done gladly. Secondly I must  post the award to my blog- Done. Following that I must write a post about the award, tell you 7 things about myself and finally nominate 15 other blogs deserving of this award. The post is a here and now hing and t a rough guess you’re about half way through unless I choose to write a lot quicker to speed things up for you.

1. Yesterday I had two meals out despite forgetting to take my diabetic medication with me. I had to pretend to take it or face ridicule ( again) about my memory.

2. I bore no resemblance to either parent and would have been accused of being a changeling ( amongst other things) had I not all the characteristics of my maternal grandmother’s, father’s line. ( go on, see how long it takes you to work that out- it took me long enough).

3. I was the middle child of three and hereby claim the right to say that’s why I’m twisted and warped.  My sister being the first child was spoiled and when I came along didn’t like me ( such good taste). My brother being the youngest was spoiled, even by my sister who had by then adjusted to not being an only child. Sob’

4. I’ve decided that should I kill myself I’m going to do so by eating smoked haddock which is the only fish dish I think smells amazing but I’m no less allergic to.

5. I never learned to add up ‘pence to pounds’ in columns as a child and preferred ‘pounds to pence’ which I still often do.

6. My wife said I made the best sweet short pastry she’s ever had. I think it was just an excuse to force me to make the mince pies at Christmas.

7. It’s 10.05 am and my ‘bro’ Mike is still in bed 5 hours after I got up. I think a cup of water is levitating in his direction and I don’t know where it’s come from. Oops !

Now for the part I like but find most difficult, choosing nominations. I’m only going to choose 5 instead of the 15 I should but please don’t take it that there aren’t many more deserving ones out there. There are, but laziness and time constraints win out today.

1. Rarasaur   http://rarasaur.wordpress.com/

2. Shawn Bird, poet and writer. http://shawnbird.com/2010/11/24/trus/

3. Marylin Warner of ‘Things I want to tell my Mother’  http://warnerwriting.wordpress.com/

4. Jennifer Scoullar  http://jenniferscoullar.com/

5. Mark Moore- for the budding artists among you  http://theartstudiobymarkmoore.me/2013/07/06/justice-served/

I hope they’ll each accept their nomination and join in but Please folks don’t feel obliged, I know how time consuming it can be.

A nice weekend to you all.

Unexpected Sunshine.

It’s not often I’m surprised these days but tonight coming on to catch up on emails I have been. The very wonderful Mary J. McCoy-Dressel ( author of sensual and spicy romance and women’s fiction) has awarded me The Sunshine Award.( http://mjdresselbooks.wordpress.com/ ) She’s done it not because my blog is a world beater or because I remind her of a hero from her books but purely from kindness. She thinks I need a little Sunshine. That seemingly small kindness has really touched me, though I know many of you accuse me of being touched already. I accept the award gladly, not least because she says I  can get away without answering any of the questions. Thanks so much Mary J. Hugs to  you.

Because I think it important to follow the spirit of the award, I should like to make my own nominations as follows.

Kimberly A Bettes.  http://kimberlyabettes.wordpress.com/

Sandell Morse            http://www.sandellmorse.com/

Lynn A Davidson      http://lynnadavidson.com/

Renata F Barcelos    http://renatafbarcelos.wordpress.com/

Jolyse Barnett           http://jolysebarnett.com/

Catherine Johnson  http://catherinemjohnson.wordpress.com/

Maria Tatham            http://christianfantasyforwomen.com/

But, because I have my own streak of devilment. Here are the questions they must answer.

What inspired you to start blogging?

How did you come up with the name of your blog?

What is your favorite blog that you like to read?

Tell about your dream job.

Is your glass half full or half empty?

If you could go anywhere on a week’s vacation, where would you go?

What food can you absolutely not eat?

Dark chocolate or milk chocolate?

How much time do you spend blogging – in other words, are you one of those lucky people who can dash off a blog post in no time, or like me and take forever on one post to get it just right?

Do you watch TV – if so, what are some of your favorite shows?

Have fun with your own choices folks. xxxx
